2015 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

Six students from Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District received $1,OOO each from our Branch. Mary Jo McQuire and Cindy Rittershofer attended a Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Saturday, September 12th, for two of our recipients.

Later in the day, they attended the Scholarship Awards Ceremony at Cuyamaca College for four students, two of our recipients are in the picture.

Grossmont-Cuyamaca College District received the 2014 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity, a national honor given by the magazine INSIGHT Into Diversity to recognize colleges and universities for outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.

From October through June, the members of the National Student Advisory Council (SAC) serve as AAUW ambassadors, advise AAUW staff on the needs of college students, and lead gender equality projects on their campuses. SAC members also help plan AAUW and NASPA’s annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL). Applications can be found at the above link.
