Jan Karlseder:  “The big question my lab is asking is, ‘What controls aging cells, what is the clock that measures it and what is the connection between this clock and age-onset diseases?” Nausica will talk about the latest research seeking this answer.

TITLE IX: Where Are We Now?

Dr. Cayleff is a historian and professor of Women’s Studies at SDSU. She has done extensive research on women and sports and is the author of Babe: The Life and Legend of ‘Babe’ Didrikson Zahari- as. She is the faculty director and mentor of the Young Women’s Studies Club at Hoover High School. Joining Dr. Cayleff will be a female student athlete who will tell us about how she has benefited from Title IX. 

Women and Children in Poverty

Dr. Kyra Greene will  be presenting: “Women and Children in Poverty” on March 12. She will be reporting on research in the San Diego and El Cajon areas, and explain policy solutions to the existing gender inequality and income gaps. Please plan to attend this meeting and learn about how AAUW is joining other organizations to provide new policies to achieve economic improvement for women in California.


Kyra R. Greene is a Research and Policy Analyst at the Center on Policy Initiatives (CPI). Before joining CPI, Dr. Greene was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at San Diego State University where she taught courses on socioeconomic inequality, race and qualitative research methods. She is a resident of El Cajon.
